January is Boring for Pools

January brings in the new. Everyone is eager for a clean, fresh start with lofty goals and ambitions for the coming year. While this can be a lot of pressure for some, pools have no pressure in January here in the Northeast. No one is thinking about them, leaving them forgotten and bored. But January is a great time for us here at Pool Operation Management as we prepare for the upcoming year.

I AM BORED OF BEING BORED

With our outdoor pools all closed, that leaves us with some extra time on our hands in January. This is when we take the time to expand our pool knowledge. Our annual industry conference and tradeshow offer lots of education options for our team. We spend days in classes brushing up on the basics, learning about new topics, and discovering new and innovative products in our industry. This in turn makes us better prepared to service your pool needs.  Still, we have our indoor clients, winter watch calls, and winter renovations to keep us busy!

“BOREDOM: THE DESIRE FOR DESIRES”

The industry launches lots of new products at our January trade show. We scour the show floor to discover new products that are going to make your pool better. This includes products in the area of pumps, filter media, chemicals, fittings, automation, pool toys, and more! It is always exciting to see what we can find that will become the “it” item of the year that all our customers are going to love. January is also the time when inventory is taken of what we have on hand and bulk it up to help ensure that we have the necessary items to fulfill all of your pool item needs during the year.

I AM SO BORED WITH NOTHING TO DO

January is also when we all prepare our calendars for the upcoming year. While January may have a lot of days with nothing to do, it’s a great time for us to start our scheduling for the service season. We take time to prepare the contracts for service and start the scheduling process. This ensures we are ready to roll for pool season and our customers are most efficiently serviced.

BORED OF BEING BORED BECAUSE BEING BORED IS BORING

So, while a lot of people are taking time to relax after the hecticness of the holidays, we at Pool Operation Management are taking advantage of the downtime to get ready for the next season. If you have questions about the 2024 season, give us a call because we are here and will answer!
