How to Make the Most of Your Pool, When It’s Back to School!
See you in September! It’s here, and hard to believe our “summer” has gone by so fast. And, now it is back to school time. And if the kids are back to school, what to do with the pool? Many are quick to close the pool once the kids are back to school. But Wait! For those of us that live “down the shore”, we know September as local’s summer. September can still be very warm and you can still get enjoyment from your pool!
Keeping it Hot
If you have a heater, water temperature will not be a problem. If you do not have a heater, you may want to take measures to maintain some of the daytime heating in your pool. You will want to use some type of pool cover at night to keep the day’s warmth in the pool.
Taking Advantage of the Water
With the kids back in school, you can now get some alone or adult time in your pool. Without the kids, the pool is now a splash free zone! This presents a great opportunity to use your pool for exercise. Exercising in water is very beneficial as it exerts less tension on your joints, but the water provides excellent resistance. Swimming is also great exercise and helps build stamina and cardiovascular endurance.
After School Time
School is out for the day and the kids want to have time to themselves. Instead of screen time, why not have pool time? With the kids in school all day sitting at a desk, afterschool presents a great time to get them moving. The pool offers the same exercise opportunities for the kids, as they do for parents.
Family Time
As the calendar starts to fill up, you want to schedule some family fun time as well. Your backyard pool offers lots of fun for the whole family. You can have races, play some pool volleyball, or just float around and catch up with the family from a busy week.
There is still plenty of time left to enjoy the pool! So make the most of it!
