The code states that required training or certification levels of operator employees. They shall be qualified to operate equipment, the procedure for performing, the necessary water quality tests and safety checks, and the appropriate emergency procedures. During an inspection by health department staff, the responsible person may be asked to demonstrate their ability to operate equipment and check water quality.
Operators must follow state, county, city and local laws as well as federal laws pertaining to the operation and maintenance of pools and spas.
