Don’t Fall Behind

Daylight Savings Time ends on November 5, 2023. We have all heard spring ahead, fall behind. While we are “gaining” an extra hour, this fall tradition means it gets darker earlier. When it gets darker earlier, people tend to sleep more and stay in more. But don’t let this clock change affect your normal routine. Take a few steps now to make sure you are ready to “spring ahead” to pool season.

Fall in Line
You should mark your calendar now for a pool opening date reminder. We send out our annual agreements in February/March. Opening dates are always on a first-come, first-serve basis. Also, we do not open pools the week prior to Memorial Day Weekend. If you have a preferred date, it is best to get your agreement back ASAP after you receive it. Set a calendar reminder on your phone or mark your next year’s calendar with a note to remind you.

Fall into Step
Fall is the time to let us know if you want to do any pool upgrades or replacements. There are some upgrades we can do in the fall and winter. Not only are we less busy during this time, but this will help to prevent any delays in a pool opening come next spring. Deciding that you want to replace or repair something in April versus November can delay your swim date. Now is the time to reach out and let us know.

Fall on Good Ground
Also, now and always, please let us know if you plan on doing backyard work in the spring such as power washing, landscaping, and deck renovations. These backyard improvements should be done prior to your pool opening. Otherwise, all the dirt and debris associated with this work ends up in your pool. When that happens, it makes your pool dirty, affects your water chemistry, and can cause staining and/or damage to your pool. It will also add to your bill with increased labor time. So, schedule your spring to-do list accordingly.

Easy as Falling Off a Log
Now is the time to take these essential steps in your schedule. We know it is hard to imagine! You just closed the pool, but next season will be here before you know it. So, don’t fall behind!
